Oaktree Lodge is a registered children’s home in Thornhill Lees, Dewsbury. Oaktree Lodge is part of CareTech inspire service. Established in 2016, it is a large five bedded detached farm house situated in over an acre of land were young people can spend many an hour exploring.
Young people have access to the shared communal areas which include two lounges, a large dining room, the kitchen and a playroom. All of the bedrooms at Oaktree Lodge are large and children are encouraged to personalise their bedrooms to their preference.
Oaktree Lodge provides specialist support to young people of male, female and non-binary genders who present with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders and/or other complex needs. Each young person for whom care is provided is respected and valued as an individual. Care approach and planning is tailored to address the specific and changing needs of each individual. The ethos of the home is to offer young people a lifestyle in which they can achieve positive outcomes in all areas.
The home maintains excellent links with local schools and health services and young people living at the home will be supported with their education and health needs at whatever level they require. Local special schools include Ravenhall school (Dewsbury,) Woodley school (Huddersfield), Fairfield school (Batley) and Castle Hill school (Huddersfield).
