Education

Inspire Children’s Services recognise that there are at times difficulties for young people in sustaining mainstream education.  When problems arise for young people looked after and accomodated by us we work closely with local education providers, educational psychologisits and social workers to plan an appropiate response through the Child’s Plan meeting.

This often results in an educational psychologist assessment which will outline the best approach to support the young person’s learning.  This will at times involve the intervention of our dedicated Education Team.

This team is comprised of a qualified teacher and a learning and development worker and is seperate from the residential child care staff team.

The Education Team will ensure that the Individual Education Plan (IEP) is implemented and will work directly with the young person on a one to one basis in order to support their learning.  This approach can be implemented alongside the young person’s attendance at school and is aimed to assist their integration into mainstream eduaction wherever possible.
