Assessment & Therapy

We have adopted a Functional Analysis approach to our assessment process.  Functional analysis and assessment is based on the premis that all challenging behaviour serves a function and that knowing what an individual gains or avoids through their behaviour is critical in planning intervention.

Our aim is therefore to learn about a young person before intervening in their lives and ultimately assist them to make changes in their life that will result in a reduction in their challenging behaviour.

Our approach is to examine the driving forces behind the behaviour and the context in which it takes place.  In recognising the needs that are being met by the challenging behaviour we can respond accordingly with an individualised intervention.
